Christian Worldview Discussion This ThursdayJoin us this Thursday evening, November 30, for a stimulating discussion concerning worldviews -- with a capable presentation & defense of the Christian worldview -- by moderator Paul Ethington. Paul's engaging overview of this topic is contained in the blog immediately above this one. Everyone has a worldview -- or a way of looking at the world & making sense of it. When we are willing to examine, understand, & evaluate our worldviews, we are truly open-minded. Being open-minded does not mean that we believe anything & everthing without reason, but that we are willing to critically examine a variety of claims & follow the claims that seem to make the most sense, best explain our experiences & thoughts, & describe the world that is with the least amount of contradiction, mystery, & confusion. Paul will be using a challenging book as the basis of his discussion: The Divine Challenge: On Matter, Mind, Math, & Meaning by John Byle. If you get the book & read ahead of our discussion, you will be well prepared to discuss ultimate reality, human nature, universal foundations, & God. If you are in Southern California, please join us! We meet at Prince of Peace Church, 2987 Mesa Verde Drive East, Costa Mesa, CA 92626 at 7:30 PM on Thursday. If you don't, please feel free to join our on-line discussion now or later. If you are planning to join us, please take a few moments here to post your questions & expectations so we can interact beforehand.
